Questions

Frequently asked questions

The things people ask before they book. More detail — permits, code, panel costs, knob-and-tube, aluminum wiring — on the full electrical FAQ page.

What areas of Washington does CC Electric serve?

We are based in Federal Way and work across South King County and Pierce County: Federal Way, Auburn, Kent, Covington, Renton, Des Moines, Burien, SeaTac, Maple Valley, Milton, Edgewood, Puyallup, Tacoma, Lakewood, Gig Harbor, and into Seattle and Bellevue. Each city has its own page on the service areas list with the local utility and inspection authority.

Are you licensed and bonded in Washington?

Yes. CC Electric operates as Creative Consultations LLC under Washington electrical contractor license OSHIETB778P8, with certified 01 administrator OSHIETB750DR and UBI 605-804-596. It is bonded and insured, and veteran-owned. You can verify all of that yourself in the Washington State L&I "Verify a Contractor" lookup — please do, for us and for every other bid you get.

Do you pull permits?

Yes, when the job requires one — panel and service changes, new circuits, remodels, EV chargers, generators and hot tub circuits all do. We pull it under our own contractor license and meet the inspector, so the inspection record attaches to your property and shows up clean at resale. In most of our area that is Washington State L&I; Seattle and Tacoma run their own programs.

What kind of electrical work do you do?

Residential and commercial-scale residential: electrical service and repair, panel replacements and 200-amp upgrades, remodel and addition wiring, new construction, Level 2 EV chargers, generator interlocks and transfer switches, knob-and-tube and aluminum wiring remediation, and troubleshooting that actually finds the fault.

How fast can you get out?

Same-day is often possible for service calls in the core area — Federal Way, Auburn, Kent, Renton and Covington. The fastest path is to text a photo of the panel or the problem to 253-268-6287; you will usually get a real answer back the same day from the electrician, not a dispatcher.

Do I need to upgrade my panel to add an EV charger or heat pump?

Often not. A load calculation frequently shows an existing 100-amp or 125-amp service can carry a load-managed Level 2 charger and a properly sized heat pump circuit. Load management is what most often saves people a four-figure service upgrade. We run the calculation before quoting either option — see the electrical FAQ for the detail.
